Supervillain turned superdad in this next instalment with Gru and the Minions!
After the adventure in the first movie Gru has now left the scene as a supervillain and criminal mastermind and is now instead a full-time superdad who’s trying to make a living on non-criminal activities. Suddenly Gru is contacted by AVL (Anti Villain League) since they need his help to find and capture a new evil, and this isn’t exactly what Gru had in mind…
Whilst unwillingly agreeing to help AVL Gru is teamed up with AVL agent Lucy and the search for the new evil henchman is afoot.
The Minions are given more focus in this second instalment and this was exactly what everyone wished for but the movie hasn’t got the same drive as the first one, but it’s still a brilliant movie with lots of punchlines and hilarious characters!
If you loved Despicable Me (and who doesn’t???) then you’l love this one as well, but although some say it’s better that the first, I think different. I’m not saying it’s “worse” or any other negative synonym but this time we know what to expect and most things are a repeat from the previous movie.
I can’t give it 5 out of 5, but a solid 4+ out of 5 is my verdict for Despicable Me 2
