When Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it’s up to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.
This sequel I didn’t get. No, it’s not complicated or I’m not stupid – it’s the movie I didn’t get. Why was it made!? Gone is the greatness from the first Avengers, Captain America and Iron Man and here is a movie that seems to have been produced under the mantra by Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap that everything should go to 11 – and that’s what’s wrong with this film…
Don’t get me wrong – the footage is great and the action is well made, but the story is paper thin and lack substance. In short terms it’s boring. So boring in fact I fell asleep the first time I watched it…
If this is the “new” Marvel format then please quit whilst you are winning, but we already know there are many more movies in the pipeline and the latest trailer to Captain America: Civil War seems to churn on in the same style as Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and this is a shame. Ant-Man was more like the first Iron Man format-wise but that was pretty crap so there’s no rescue in that direction.
Watch if if you’re a Marvel fan but don’t expect it to be anywhere near the earlier movies.
It’s well made, well produced and great footage so I can’t give it too crap of a score but how it scraped together a 7.6 score at IMDB is a mystery to me?! I give it a weak 2 out of 5 – and that’s only down to a few funny comical scenes that lifts this movie from the fact that it’s not that good.
